Prisvinnende amerikaner spiller orgel i Mariakirken

Dexter Kennedy
As the winner of the Grand Prix d'Interprétation at the 24th Concours International d'Orgue de Chartres, Dexter Kennedy has established himself internationally as "one of the greatest organists of our times" (Iceland Monitor). 

Praised for his "prodigious technique and grand style musicality" in The American Organist, he currently serves on the music faculty of the College of Wooster (Ohio, USA) as Instructor of Organ and Harpsichord. Mr. Kennedy is an active recitalist throughout both Europe and North America, having performed in great cathedrals and concert halls including: Berliner Dom; Chartres Cathedral; Chichester Cathedral; Hallgrimskirkja, Reykjavik; Église Saint-Etienne, Caen; St. Andreas Kyrka, Malmö; Washington National Cathedral; and Basilique Notre-Dame, Montreal. In 2015 he joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra for two subscription concerts at Tanglewood Music Center. Kennedy's 2017 performances include his debut recital in South America at the Catédral Primada of Bogotá, Colombia; the St. Albans International Organ Festival; Grossmünster Zürich; and the Bavokerk Haarlem, in addition to many recitals in the USA. In 2018 he will make his solo recital debut at Notre-Dame de Paris. Dexter Kennedy holds the Artist Diploma from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he was a pupil of James David Christie, and a Master of Music Degree from the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music. Kennedy has also studied under Olivier Latry, Martin Jean, Jeffrey Brillhart, Arthur Haas and Webb Wiggins, and has attended several international organ festivals. Kennedy works as the Assistant Organist of Christ Church Grosse Pointe in Michigan where he serves as principal organist for all choral services and concerts.
